Sheikh Zayed Grand Mosque

The beautiful Sheikh Zayed Grand Mosque radiates peace and tranquillity. A stunning building made of cool white marble with mosaic flowers and vines, it features 82 domes, over 1,000 columns and 24-carat gold gilded chandeliers.

In the main prayer hall, one of the world's largest chandeliers dominates the ceiling, hanging 10 meters in diameter, 15 meters in height and weighing twelve tonnes. Under your feet in the same hall is the world's largest hand-knotted carpet. Those attributes alone should give you an idea of the Mosque's grandeur.

Completed in 2007, this massively popular mosque can fit 40,000 visitors and worshippers into a space the size of four football fields.
