A high-end dining experience in the heart of Mebourne’s CBD district, that offers its patrons exquisite cuisine coupled with unbeatable views across the cityscape.
Opened in 2000 by Australian Chef Shannon Bennet, the restaurant has since made the shift to its new premises on the 55th floor of the Rialto Towers, in the process garnering widespread acclaim and international recognition, not to mention an unprecedented (at the time) 19/20 score from The Age Good Food Guide.
The restaurant's ethos is all about serving up beautiful foods, with a mission statement declaring its focus is "to present an exciting and dynamic experience with progression of flavors and sense of curiosity”.
The ever-changing menu pays homage to classical fine dining with a modern twist using local Australian ingredients. Sample menu dishes include Macadamia and smoked eel tofu with peas and caviar, Blackmore Wagyu with summer offerings and a Chocolate souffle with billy tea ice-cream.
The achingly hip decor for this latest iteration of Vue de Monde encapsulates a feeling of the Australian landscape, with a black basalt bar and humanely-sourced kangaroo fur chairs with corrugated iron adorning the walls, all enhanced by the glorious sweeping views of Melbourne’s skyline.
The restaurant also caters for intimate celebrations and lavish corporate events, and everything in between, perfect if you’re keen to rent out the venue for you and your guests.
Opening hours:
Lunch: Fri & Sat, from 12pm
Dinner: Wed to Sat, from 6pm
