The 16th edition of the annual Voiles de St Tropez will close the Mediterranean yachting season in spectacular fashion in the beautiful surroundings of St Tropez.
First organised in 1999 by the Société Nautique de Saint Tropez, Les Voiles de Saint Tropez will be running their 16th regatta this year. Attracting 300 of the world's most exquisite contemporary and classic sailing yachts, the race course skirts along the coast of the bay of St Tropez, each yacht striving to win the coveted Rolex Trophy.
Modern sailing yachts at the regatta participate in five days of thrilling coastal races while the traditional yachts compete in four days of fleet races. At the end of the week, a prize-giving ceremony will take place in the beautiful 16th century Citadelle that overlooks the port.
As well as attracting international visitors, sailing enthusiasts also flock to the event to make the most of the week of racing along with the social calendar that accompanies it ashore. The Grand Village offers a bar terrace and daily entertainment including the famous Sardinade (fsh fry) and crew procession.
