14 - 18 Feb 2014
One of the 'Big Four' fashion weeks alongside New York, Milan and Paris, London Fashion Week is one of the highest profile fashion events in the world.
London Fashion Week (LFW) puts London and British fashion firmly on the international stage, generating orders of around £100m. The event itself contributes £20 million towards London's economy in regards to direct spenditure and draws in visitors from more than 25 different countries including America, France, Italy, Russia, and China.
Following the controversy of setting the London 2013 fashion week dates for spring/summer 2013 in September, the British Fashion Council together with the Council of Fashion Designers of America has released a joint statement to confirm the dates for London Fashion Week autumn/winter 2014 for 14-18th February.
This is a contraversial move from the CFDA and the BFC after the debates over the spring/summer 2013 schedule clash between all four fashion capitals, which was instigated by Milan Fashion Week asking New York to give up its last day so that London didn’t overlap with its schedule. Fingers crossed, with London and New York partnering up, the row will finally be resolved, allowing designers, buyers and editors to plan ahead.
