Launching with its inaugural edition in 1982, and then operating under new management with the Newport Exhibition Group in 2012, the Newport Charter Yacht Show has become a fundamental element to the North America yacht charter market.

Taking place at the Safe Harbor Newport Shipyard, the Newport Charter Yacht Show is an event designed to advocate the best luxury yacht charters for USA yacht charters, allowing brokers and industry professionals to explore the attending yacht rentals and gain first-hand experience of what the individual motor yachts have to offer prospective clients.
Around the pontoons, visitors can expect exclusive tours of the attending motor and sailing yacht charters, accompanied by relative crews and captains who can offer additional insider information about the fleet and their premium onboard amenities.
With the Safe Harbor Newport Shipyard hosting 50 berths that can cater to yacht rentals up to 350ft (106.7m), the show can comfortably accommodate some truly exceptional luxury yacht charters that are primed to explore US waters with optimal indulgence.
Boasting a selection of more than 15 luxury yacht charters, industry professionals attending the Newport Charter Yacht Show can expect to see some of the most popular superyacht charters operating in the region from some of the most well-known shipyards.
Over the years, there have been come captivating charter yachts adorning the pontoons at the exclusive event, including 168ft (51.21m) yacht rental ACTA from the fleet of Feadship charter yachts in 2024, the award-winning 164ft (49.99m) yacht charter CHASSEUR, and 164.1ft (50.01m) luxury yacht charter AS YOU WISH in 2018.
As well as the enticing array of motor yacht charters in attendance, the Newport Charter Yacht Show offers more with a full program of seminars surrounding innovative new products and technologies, changes and adjustments in maritime law, introductions to charter-friendly resorts, and highlighting invigorating attractions within the region's popular yacht charter destinations.
Making captains and crew as much a part of the event as the yacht rentals themselves, there are four crew competitions during the Newport Charter Yacht Show, allowing all crew members to test their skills and earn bragging rights for their team and relative charter yacht.
The competitions featured at the event are:
- Chef Competition - a mystery basket challenge to create three different hors d’oeuvres including a grazing platter
- Captain and Deck Challenge - featuring three fun challenges for a friendly competition
- Tablescaping Competition - open to interior crew members, using only materials found on the relative superyacht
- Signature Cocktail Competition - open to all participating crew members, using a designated spirit plus mixers and secret ingredients from charter yacht pantries.
