Kaohsiung Exhibition Center
May
Organised by the Bureau of Foreign Trade, the MOEA and Kaohsiung City Government and implemented by the Taiwan External Trade Development Council (TAITRA), the Taiwan International Boat Show is supported by the Taiwan Yacht Industry Association (TYIA).
Taiwan’s yacht manufacturing industry can be traced right back to the 1960s. Over the past five decades, it first flourished, then internationalised during the 1980s, before experiencing a rapid decline in the 1990s. Today, the fine craftsmanship, high level of customisation and superiority of Taiwan’s yacht industry has once more gained recognition from international buyers.
2014 will see the very first Taiwan International Boat Show take place - the only professional exhibition of yachts, yacht-related equipment and the marine industry in Taiwan. It is the only indoor yacht exhibition in Asia to showcase a range of yachts, equipment, accessories, water sports, tourism and maritime services and it is estimated that around 200 companies will take up over 800 booths in the North and South halls of the Kaohsiung Exhibition Centre.
The Taiwan International Boat Show will not only attract local and international yacht industries, but also overseas manufacturers. With the US and Europe still not showing noticeable improvement in their economies, the Asian yacht market has become the new emerging market. Taiwan’s geographical advantage means that foreign manufacturers can enter the Asian market, thus attracting manufacturers from America, Australia, China, Hong Kong, Italy, Japan, New Zealand, Singapore and the UK to the show.
