The Arthur Ashe Stadium will play host to the 2014 US Open Tennis Championship.
For more than 100 years tennis fans have seen the last major championship of the 'Grand Slam' season played just outside of New York. Though slightly younger than the world-famous Wimbledon tournament, it achieves much higher attendance numbers and is expected to draw in over 700,000 visitors this year.
Played at several venues at the USTA National Tennis Centre, the centrepiece is the Arthur Ashe Stadium which can hold around 24,000 fans. In addition, the Louis Armstrong stadium can seat 10,000 and there are a number of side courts. It is very easy and straight-forward to get around the grounds and see several different matches in the same day.
The US Open has a long list of champions, including McEnroe, Agassi, Navratilova, Federer, Nadal, Clijsters and the Williams' sisters, but who will walk away with the trophy and a cut of the $20million+ prize money this year?
