The 36.4m/119'5" expedition yacht 'Noorderzon' (ex. Zeeleeuw) was built by Damen Yachting in the Netherlands. Her interior is styled by design house Felix Buytendijk Yacht Design and she was completed in 2012. She originally served as a tug boat before being converted into a yacht by Balk Shipyard in 2012. This luxury vessel's exterior design is the work of Felix Buytendijk Yacht Design.

Noorderzon is built with a steel hull and steel superstructure, with teak decks. Powered by 1 x diesel Caterpillar (3512 C) 1,500hp engines running at 1800rpm, she comfortably cruises at 10 knots, reaches a maximum speed of 14 knots with a range of up to 6,000 nautical miles from her 76,000 litre fuel tanks. Her water tanks store around 22,000 Litres of fresh water. She was built to BV (Bureau Veritas) classification society rules, and is MCA Compliant.
