Situated on the sea bed between Malta and Gozo, The MV Imperial Eagle is now one of the main attractions of an underwater marine park for divers.
Those on a luxury superyacht charter vacation around Malta can experience firsthand the beauty and history of the wreck dives around the area.
Launched in 1938 as NEW ROYAL LADY, she was an excursion ship, around 45m (147ft) in length with a bean of about 9m (29ft) and after serving its time, she got scuttled for divers.
Next to the dive, around 30m from the bow of the Imperial Eagle you can find the statue of Jesus Christ. The statue was erected when Pope Jean Pual visited Malta in 1990 and is now enjoyed by a multitude of diving enthusiasts.
It is completely mesmerizing, a must-see sight when in Malta
Next to the dive site, you will find a beautiful underwater valley, a reef simply teeming with fish, coral and soft sponges. Home to an abundance of marine life, divers will also get a glimpse of the large anchor that has been wedged there since the 1600s. On this dive, it is common to see nudibranch, groupers, barracuda and moray eels as well as a whole host of other creatures who inhabit the reef.
