Ideal for Summer Season
The city that reaches for the sky, Melbourne, attracts tens of thousands of tourists to its vicinity every year. With so much to see and do, it's no wonder visitors return to this cosmopolitan city time and time again. On a private yacht rental around Melbourne, you'll want to make sure you see everything, so pull up the anchor and charter into Port Phillip Bay.
- Day 1
The Cosmopolitan City of Melbourne
After anchoring down in the natural harbor of Port Phillip Bay, head ashore to stretch your legs and enjoy a freshly brewed coffee.
Looking around the harbor, you will see many cafes and restaurants tempting you with delicious, freshly prepared meals and many local fishermen bringing in their catches of the day. For a cultural insight into Melbourne, visit the National Gallery of Victoria and look through the many artistic works of art before rejoining the city environment by visiting St Paul's Cathedral.
Treat yourself to some shopping time in the city by visiting some of the many boutiques and big-name brands lining the city streets and the Block Arcade. For something special, visit Queen Victoria Market where many stalls and stands sell various trinkets and handmade items inside a historic building. Finish your day in style by watching the sunset from the towering Eureka Skydeck observatory.
- Day 2
Exploring more of Melbourne city
On day 2 in the city continue your sightseeing adventure by watching over Melbourne in the Melbourne Star observation wheel. Watch over the skyline as you rise above the buildings to pick your next destination in this wonderful part of Australia.
For somewhere chic and modern, head over to Federation Square. The open-air plaza is filled with cafes, restaurants and art galleries. Look at art, both old and new and find something exquisite to take for your home decor. While in the area, you can also stop over at the Immigration museum to see some more culture and Australian history.
On your way back to Port Phillip Bay, make a stop to visit the beautiful botanical gardens to enjoy the lush greenery before enjoying a delicious meal in one of the harbor restaurants.
- Day 3
Tower Hill Wildlife Reserve
Departing Port Phillip Bay, enjoy the breeze as your charter across to Warrnambool and the Tower Hill Wildlife Reserve.
This nature reserve is unlike any other you will ever visit. The unique location is an attraction of its own. Housed inside a volcanic crater, this wildlife oasis is unusual and encompasses the ashen debris of a volcano and a swampland, highly desired by wildlife. Strolling around the designated paths, you can see some stunning natural displays of native flora and fauna mixed in with the unique rock formations and conical hills. The reserve's wildlife is not hard to find, so you can expect to see some koalas, kangaroos, emus and a wide selection of native and migratory birds. After taking a tour of the reserve, stop by the visitors' center to pick up some souvenirs and have a bite to eat.
To make your day at the Tower Hill Wildlife Reserve truly special, stick around for a tour with the team onsite. Night tours take place under guidance, so you can watch the sunset over a panoramic view at the rim of the volcanic crater and see the active creatures at night.
- Day 4
Phillip Island
Chartering from Warrnambool and past Melbourne, anchor down at Phillip Island, on the outside edge of Port Phillip Bay.
Jump straight into some fun time by letting your hair down in the A Maze N' Things amusement park and enjoy the thrill of the rides before heading over to revisit the local wildlife at Philip Island Wildlife Park. The beautiful scenery in this park is enough to transport you into a new world without the many species of native and rare creatures that visit here. For more furry animals on the island, make a special stop at the Koala Conservation Centre, where you can discover the work being done and watch out for the koalas who like to say hello.
Spend the rest of the day on Phillip Island sightseeing by visiting the Phillip Island Chocolate Factory, the Grand Prix circuit and the Rhyll Trout And Bush Tucker Farm. After enjoying a rustic meal at the farm, spend your evening on the exciting Surfer's Beach to watch the surfers and the beautiful sunset.
