Kicking off the event season in usual style, the Cannes Yachting Festival 2014 will again welcome a host of superyachts from the global charter fleet to line three glamorous French Riviera marinas.
Now in its 37th year, the renowned yacht show has this year undergone a rebrand from its previous life as the Festival de la Plaisance de Cannes. The Cannes Yachting Festival will open its doors on the 9th September until the 14th and will feature more than 580 yachts’ – a quarter of which will be making their world debut to the industry – over three stunning exhibition areas to include the Vieux Port, Port Pierre Canto and the Palais des Festivals.
As the first superyacht meeting of the season, the Cannes Yachting Festival brings together the industry’s key players, Owner’s, designers and builders to present some of the latest models available on the market. In aid of this year’s event, the Nice-Côte d’Azur Chamber of Commerce and Industry have overseen some major renovations in the Cannes’ marinas to ensure it continues to compete with the best yacht show’s around the globe.
Show Manager, Sylvie Ernoult commented: ‘One of the strengths of the Festival is the opportunity for the exhibitors to invite their clients to discover their yachts during sea trials in the wonderful bay of Cannes. This year is no exception and, thanks to revolutionary movable pontoons, yachts can move in and out of the harbour freely whilst not disrupting the visitor flow.’
Amongst the line-up this year are a number of well-known luxury charter yachts, including the 49m/161ft motor yacht ‘TJ Esperanza’, the 63m/297ft Lürssen ‘Polar Star’, the 2013-launched 55m/180ft ‘Ocean Paradise’ and the elegant 27m/89ft sailing yacht ‘Nefertiti’. A host of luxury exhibitors, tenders and superyacht services will also be on display along with of course a packed social schedule of networking events and cocktail parties.
