The 1963 launched luxury charter yacht ‘Santa Maria’ is back at her home yard Feadship in the Netherlands undergoing a number of upgrades to refresh her in time for the summer 2015 Mediterranean season.
Originally built for automobile tycoon Henry Ford II, the 33m/108ft ‘Santa Maria’ was the most expensive vessel to be built at Feadship in the early 1960’s and has since enjoyed a successful career on the waves. With a series of loving Owners who have ensured meticulous maintenance and continuous upgrades, including this latest eight month refit, her charter course continues.
‘Santa Maria’ will benefit from a number of system upgrades and interior updates will be made although her classically elegant charm complete with period features will remain intact. She accommodates up to 10 guests in four luxurious staterooms to include a very spacious master suite as well as additional room for her five crew.
As part of the Feadship Heritage fleet, ‘Santa Maria’ represents the yachting pedigree of the highly acclaimed Dutch yacht builder and makes for the perfect platform for a classic yacht charter. Upon completion of her refit she will embark on her first Scandinavian summer cruise followed by charters in the Mediterranean.
