Doors Open at the Singapore Yacht Show 2017

By Rebecca Bradbury   6 April 2017

The Singapore Yacht Show 2017 got underway earlier today at the One°15 Marina in Sentosa Cove, Singapore, wowing all those in attendance with its impressive line-up of superyachts and international yachting brands.

Opening at 3pm local time, the seventh edition of the event got off to a fine start with a spectacular opening ceremony. There were also live performances and water toy demonstrations from the off, ensuring a vibrant setting which is sure to continue over the next three days.

Indeed, the Singapore Yacht Show provides a first-class platform for regional guests to meet yachting professionals, yacht owners and other VIPs in a highly social setting. A Welcome Cocktail Party takes place tonight, with parties, fashion shows and mixologist sessions to follow throughout the week.

The highlight of the day, however, is undoubtedly the appearance of the Espen Oino-designed 77m/253ft charter yacht ‘Silver Fast’ lined up in the award-winning marina. With her sparkling silver hue and sleek, stylish lines, the 2015 SilverYachts build is impossible not to spot.

Making her debut in Singapore and also turning heads is the 41m/135ft charter yacht ‘Ocean Emerald’. Designed by Norman Foster, she boasts a striking exterior profile as well as a minimalistic interior. No wonder she was chosen to appear in the remake of cult film Point Break.

The pair are lined up alongside the 65m/213ft superyacht AMBROSIA. Featuring traditional Benetti lines, she is sleek and well-proportioned, and fitted out with the most advanced engineering and diesel electric propulsion available.

Other renowned European shipyards showcasing their craftsmanship are British builders Sunseeker, Feadship and Heesen from the Netherlands, and German yard Lurssen.

As well as superyachts and boat builders, there are also many luxury lifestyle brands in show, ranging from supercars, fine dining, and hand-crafted jewellery to the South East Asia’s most luxurious waterside properties.

Running until 10pm local time today, the show will take place until Sunday 9th April from 3pm to 11pm each day. YachtCharterFleet will be reporting back on the latest news from the event. Be sure to check out our Singapore Yacht Show Live Stream for more information.
