The team at Followtheboat recently released a superb video which provides an insider’s look at what went down in the Ao Po Grand Marina in Thailand earlier this month. As well as interviewing those behind the scenes of the Thailand Yacht Show 2016, the team also took a tour of the 73m/240ft superyacht TITANIA.
Exploring the various exhibition stands and speaking with seasoned crew and staff, Followtheboat’s coverage of the inaugural Thailand Yacht Show provides a nice glimpse into the current climate of an increasingly popular charter destination.
Speaking with one of the managers behind Port Takola, the video reveals the recent progress of the new marina set to open for yachts in Thailand as soon as May 2016.
Recognising that the show is something of a celebration of the superyacht charter market, there is also some great footage of a flyboard in action.
Stepping on board TITANIA, the video takes its audience on a tour of the biggest superyacht in the marina. Built by Lurssen back in 2006 with exterior styling courtesy of Espen Oeino, the vessel was refit in 2012 to keep up with the needs of her discerning owner.
Shown around by an experienced crew member, the video reveals the finer details of the private office adjacent to the master bedroom and the ornate massage room which took the place of the home cinema.Identifying the quality of the walnut oak and solid marble floors, the footage also shows off the panoramic views offered by the second master suite and the comfortable furnishings available in the main salon.
On the aft deck, the video does a good job of conveying the generous size of the swimming pool and the modern design of the gymnasium.
All evidence would appear to suggest that the inaugural Thailand Yacht Show was a resounding success
