The Monaco Yacht Show 2015 ended another successful year on Saturday afternoon, and the YachtCharterFleet team were at Port Hercules to experience the most eagerly anticipated luxury yacht event on the calendar.
As doors opened on Wednesday 23rd September, a plethora of some of the world’s most impressive superyachts from the leading brokerages and shipyards in the industry, lined up alongside one another in the prestigious Monaco port for inspections by prospective clients and brokers.
A superyacht that stood out for some of the leading brokers at the show was the stylish Amels 67m/198ft motor yacht EVENT. Her impeccable attention to detail and design has meant she still remains one of the industry’s most advanced and innovative models. With a unique Scimitar Bow capable of fitting two 8-metre tenders, an exclusive beach club, a fore touch-and-go helipad, and an off-set formal dining room with private balcony, EVENT impressed us with her devotion to the privacy and complete vacation-comfort of her guests.
The 85m/279ft Lurssen superyacht SOLANDGE, also graced the show and dominated the harbour as one of the world's largest and most well-appointed yachts.
Sadly, no charter yachts took awards however, the yachts that did receive Monaco Awards were thoroughly deserving of the title. The 39m/126ft modern classic motor yacht TARANSAY received the first award for the 2015 build’s attention to detail as a replica of a 1930’s classic yacht, whilst the 66m/217ft Lürssen motor yacht ‘Ester III,’ a finalist at the 2015 World Superyacht Awards, later took the Exterior Design Award.
The Finest New Yacht of the 2015 MYS was appropriately appointed to the 77m/253ft motor yacht ‘Silver Fast’ with her Espen Oeino design, raising the SilverYachts standards to new and incredibly impressive levels.
The charter yacht 'St. David' was the highlight of the evening’s entertainment as the 60m/197ft’s sundeck was kitted-out as the ultimate party venue. Fitted with an array of disco lights and a DJ booth, the Benetti yacht boasted the show’s most impressive top-quality DJ’s and exclusive dance-floor. Showcasing her highly-regarded charter potential, yacht was host to the must-attend event of this year's show.
One of the most talked-about announcements in Port Hercules was the exclusive announcement of 139m/456ft superyacht Project Redwood by renowned Moran Yacht & Ship, measuring an impressive 139ft. She will rank amongst the world's largest yachts when she is launched, with delivery expected for 2019.
On the worldwide new build market, things are looking extremely positive also. Jim Evans of SuperYachtsMonaco was exceedingly satisfied with the amount of activity with builds of over 40 metres, with a handle of incredible projects underway and many more announcements made.
