ShowBoats Design Awards Open for 2015 Nominations

Nominations are now officially open for the 2015 edition of the ShowBoats Design Awards which are due to take place on the 23rd February in Kitzbühel, Austria.

The prestigious superyacht event is now in its sixth year and has quickly become an important fixture on the yachting calendar, bringing together the industry’s most talented, innovative and esteemed designers. This year fifteen coveted golden Neptune awards will be handed out to winners, judged by an independent panel of yacht owner’s senior yacht crew and acclaimed naval architects, designers and stylists from within as well as outside the marine industry.

Last year the 2013-built 32m/107ft luxury charter yacht INUKSHUK impressed the ShowBoats Design Awards judges, taking away two awards this year to include the ‘Exterior Design and Styling’ as well as ‘Interior Design’ in the sailing yacht category. Another global charter fleet addition, the 60m/197ft Perini Navi sailing yacht SEAHAWK took the ‘Holistic Design Award’ while ‘Naval Architecture’ went to the 40m/128ft motor yacht SAFIRA.

Individual designers are also recognised during the glittering gala evening and last year saw acclaimed yacht designer Terence Disdale take home the Lifetime Achievement Award. With world renowned superyachts such as the 163m/533ft ECLIPSE, the 49m/161ft Benetti QM of LONDON and the 85m/279ft ECSTASEA in his design portfolio, he is undoubtedly one of the world’s premiere designers and continues to lead the way with his luxurious creations.

2014 has seen a flurry of exciting superyacht launches that could be in the running for next year’s awards.
