On 5 April 2013, megayacht AZZAM sent shock waves throughout the industry and media on her delivery by Lürssen in 2013. At 591 feet (180 metres), she was, and has been for 2 years, the world's largest luxury yacht. Although not available charter, the image above was too beautiful not to share.
Here the motor yacht AZZAM is seen travelling to the Middle East for the first time since her was delivered to her Abu Dhabi-based owner. Spotted in late May at Port Said on the Suez Canal, it was thought she was en route to Dubai.
Completing in an impressive building period of 3 years, AZZAM boasts a top speed of 31.5 knots, with 'sophisticated yet timeless' interior styling by Christophe Leoni and exterior work by Nauta Yachts. She is 17.5 metres longer than the largest charter yacht, 162.5m/533ft motor yacht ECLIPSE.
From the meaning "determination" in Arabic, amenities on board this landmark Lürssen build include a Jacuzzi, a helipad, elevator, beauty room.
