Home to over 75% of the world’s species, Raja Ampat has long since been a popular choice for charters in Indonesia among nature lovers. With such an abundance of sea life and coral, Mioskin Bay is one of the area’s best spots for exploring this stunning edenic haven.
Located on the northern side of the Dampier Strait, Mioskon Bay is surrounded by thick jungle which is home to many bird species. But what makes this small island in the Kri Peninsula so famous is the vast expanse of coral reef that encompasses it in a V shape.

With such an expansive amount of coral reef comes a myriad of marine species, including pygmy seahorses, Napoleon Wrasse fish, and even the rare Wobbegang sharks which are actually endemic to the region to name just a select few. Mioskon Bay is therefore the ideal location to use the snorkeling and diving equipment onboard your motor yacht.
Given the abundant variety of both hard and soft corals, the bay’s waters are relatively shallow in several places– ranging from 2-25m in depth. It is therefore perfect for beginners to safely enjoy the area’s natural wonders, without worrying about keeping up with the more advanced divers in your luxury charter party.
After a morning of swimming with the fish, dry off while sitting in a kayak or on a paddleboard and explore the bay’s mangroves on the water’s mirror-like surface.
If you would like to incorporate a visit to Mioskon Bay into your Raja Ampat charter itinerary, be sure to speak to your preferred yacht charter broker.
