Of common molluscs, the Queen Conch is most common in the waters of the Bahamas islands. On your Bahamas yacht charter vacation, you'll see that Conch is generally served five ways, either as delicious conch fritters, cracked conch, and conch burgers - all of which are fried. A must try delicacy; you'll find many local grocery stores sell freshly-made cups of the salad which are usually sold out by noon. Famous for their scavenging, they hunt out plant remains and overripe fruits to eat. With a shell for a home, and a large claw to cover the shell opening to protest itself - the hermit crabs are wonderful examples of the bountiful and extraordinary wildlife found in the Bahamas.
