Sikinos, Cyclades

This island, between Ios and Folegandros, has some of the most attractive scenery in the Cyclades. Terraced hills sweep down to sandy beaches, wonderfully blue waters lap the shore and whitewashed houses gather around the picturesque harbour of Aloprónia.

Not far from the port is the charming village of Hóra, made up of two quarters, one old and the other new. Narrow lanes are lined with cafes, bars and taverns, and walking trails that cross the entire island start here.

Sunsets can be enjoyed from the fortress monastery of Zoodochos Pighi, and the Byzantine monastery of Episkopi and the chapel of Ayia Marina are also worth visiting.
