You will find it impossible to secure a job in the yachting industry unless you have undertaken the STCW Basic Training. A requirement when working on any commercially registered yacht, the course is provided throughout Europe and the USA.
Other courses are not formally required but, if you want to stand out from the crowd and show you are serious about working aboard a superyacht, it will be of great benefit to take on additional training.
Deciding on which department you want to specialise in will help you choose your next educational steps. Positions fall into deck, engineering, galley and interior roles.
