Following months of anticipation, the Monaco Yacht Show 2016 got off to an incredible start yesterday morning.
Beneath blue skies and with an inviting climate to match, this year’s Monaco Yacht Show appeared to be living up to its unrivalled reputation in the superyacht world as it roared to live on Wednesday morning.
Ever keen to get to the heart of the action, the team at YachtCharterFleet spent the day in Port Hercule amongst the various motor yachts and sailing yachts on display.
Whilst the superyachts out on the water unquestionably commanded a considerable amount of attention, a number of guests were also eager to busy themselves with the shipyards hosting exhibitions. With the likes of Feadship, Benetti, and Heesen on hand, such activity was hardly surprising.
No doubt the biggest news of the day came from Lurssen, however, who revealed how they have acquired the fellow German shipyard Blohm + Voss, and will be utilising their resources for projects taking place in the near future.
True to tradition, the Monaco Yacht Show 2016 has brought together some of the world’s most inspiring superyachts
After checking out the iconic infinity pool situated on the aft deck of the award-winning 66m/217ft motor yacht OKTO, the team proceeded to get a closer look at the equally distinct 85m/279ft luxury yacht SOLANDGE.
Also generating plenty of intrigue was the highly secretive 73m/238ft motor yacht ‘Coral Ocean’ as she sat next to the highly modern 41m/135ft luxury yacht NAMELESS.
A little further out at-anchor, both the 72m/236ft luxury yacht AXIOMA and the 90m/295ft motor yacht ‘Lauren L’ were unquestionably holding court.
As the show continues throughout the course of the week, YachtCharterFleet will be sure to bring you the latest news and developments.
