A Vision Takes Shape: The Amels 80 Yacht's Anticipated Arrival at Damen Yachting Shipyard

Today marked a significant moment as the first Amels 80 superyacht made its grand entrance into the Netherlands, signaling the beginning of its outfitting phase. The Damen Yachting shipyard in Vlissingen will serve as the crafting grounds for this magnificent motor yacht until its completion in 2025.

Spanning an impressive 80m (261ft), this pioneering Amels 80 superyacht is the latest addition to the renowned Amels Limited Editions collection. The yacht's exterior, a masterpiece by the acclaimed designer Espen Øino, embodies the signature elegance and modern flair characteristic of Amels yachts.

Damen Yachting's Project Manager, Romke van der Linde, expressed his pride in the shipyard's legacy of over a century of innovation, highlighting the hybrid technology of the Amels 80 as a prime example of their forward-thinking craftsmanship. The positive response from the hybrid system already in use on the Amels 60 yachts like ENTOURAGE underscores the shipyard's commitment to excellence.

The yacht owner has embraced the opportunity for customization, commissioning the esteemed Dutch studio Sinot Yacht Architecture & Design to craft a bespoke interior. Jan van Hogerwou, Commercial Executive for North America at Damen Yachting, noted that the ability to personalize the interior is a significant aspect of the Amels Limited Editions yachts. The rendered previews promise a truly stunning interpretation of the Amels 80 interior, eagerly anticipated for 2025.

Once completed, the yacht will feature an exclusive owner's deck, an expansive 200sqm (2,153 sqft) sun deck, and a generous 2,175 GT volume accommodating a variety of leisure amenities. Guests can look forward to a waterside beach club with threefold access, a tranquil wellness and spa area, and a designated helicopter landing space.

The initial construction of the Amels 80's hull and superstructure was completed in Galati, Romania, and unveiled on September 27th, 2023, before being transported to the Netherlands for the next steps in its build. The sale of the yacht a year prior has kept the team at Burgess closely engaged as the Owner's Representative throughout the development process.
