FLIBS closes its doors on a successful 65th celebratory edition

By Katie Scott   4 November 2024

Celebrating 65 years with a show of shows, the Fort Lauderdale International Boat Show (FLIBS) has closed its doors on an edition that witnessed nearly 100 debuts and the biggest attending fleet of superyachts since 2019.

Featuring 72 USA charter yachts with an average length of 135.53ft (41.31m), the 2024 edition of FLIBS welcomed a surplus of 100,000 visitors throughout the five-day event, providing abundant opportunities to explore a wide range of motor yachts and many USA debuts.

Opening its doors on 30 October, FLIBS launched with heavy rain but it didn't dampen the show as visitors flocked to see the curated collection of 1,000 exhibitors and luxury charter yachts around the docks.

Hosting the return of some popular attractions, the AquaZone showcased the latest innovative gear to take on invigorating watersports yacht charters, and the live entertainment kept the momentum going around the pontoons of the seven locations.

Continuing to make its statement as a standout exhibit, the Superyacht Village also made its presence known this year. Some of the superyachts on show within the exclusive display included the Best in Show Mangusta Oceano 44, and 144.7ft (44.06m) motor yacht ABBENTURES2 from the Benetti shipyard.

Returning to the show for the first time in a decade, 257.32ft (78.43m) superyacht charter AMARYLLIS maintained her hold on the title of largest in show for 2024, with visitors enjoying her aesthetically pleasing exteriors and effortless grace.

Other Florida yacht charters that adorned the pontoons included 221.5ft (67.49m) luxury yacht charter LOON who made her show debut, and 200.2ft (61m) yacht rental MARGUERITE from the fleet of Lurssen yacht charters.

Already looking onwards to the 66th edition, the 2025 Fort Lauderdale International Boat Show is scheduled to run from 29 October to 2 November.
