This week sees the 55th edition of the Fort Lauderdale International Boat Show open its doors, with an impressive display of charter yachts due to be displayed from 30 October to 3 November.
Final preparations are underway in Fort Lauderdale for the world’s largest boat show, as the attending sail and motor yachts are polished and preened for its opening on Thursday. From sportfishers to superyachts, yachts of every size and function are gathered across seven locations awaiting the show’s grand opening.
This year’s event an unprecedented number of luxury yacht companies will exhibit, including U.S. builders Delta Marine, German shipyards Lurrsen and Blohm & Voss, Dutch builders Feadship and esteemed Italian shipyards Benetti and Baglietto. At Lurrsen’s stand, the builders are to showcase their highly-anticipated new build 95m superyacht KISMET, who will soon be available for charter. The world’s leading yacht brokers have turned out in force to present a large selection of luxury yachts for sale and charter.
Fort Lauderdale will also play host to luxury car brands, helicopter and water toy brands – the latter will put on demonstrations throughout the show. Locations include Bahia Mar Yachting Centre, the Hall of Fame Marina, Las Olas Marina, The Sails Marina and the newly renovated Pier 66.
The largest charter yacht in attendance will be the impressive 78m motor yacht AMARYLLIS, boasting amenities including glass elevator, large Jacuzzi pool with LED lights and Schimmel piano on board. Amongst the other luxury charter yachts in attendance to the show is the 60m motor yacht SWAN – delivered by Benetti in 2011 - who will showcase the results of her refit earlier this year, as will the recently refitted 52m superyacht GRAVITAS .
The 56m superyacht 'MY SEANNA' is another notable attendee, recently remodeled, she boasts brand new water toys as well as a touch and go helipad, outdoor movie theatre and sundeck sauna. Don't forget to visit her master suite, to enjoy spectacular 360-degree views of her surroundings.
The impressive 58m superyacht UNBRIDLED will also be in attendance for guests to inspect her uniquely designed swimming pool, located on her sundeck. From the Vitters shipyard, the 55m sailing yacht MARIE is a fine example of a neo-classic yacht and features a crow’s nest 123 feet above the deck.
A network of water taxis, river boasts, bus shuttles and personal broker services will be on hand to ensure guests can navigate the show with ease.
