Hitting the headlines after completing an extensive year-long refit at the Abeking & Rasmussen shipyard in Lemwerder, Germany, 230.4ft (70.2m) superyacht charter STARFIRE has unveiled her brand new look as she officially joins the listing of attending yachts for the 2025 MYBA Charter Show.
Originally known as superyacht SAINT NICOLAS, the motor yacht charter emerged in early February 2025 after a staggering transformation with completed works including a swim platform extension designed by Murray & Associates for improved water access, exterior updates by Pascoli International, and clever black paint techniques on the radar mast, tinted windows, and black accents on the superstructure to create a sleek, modern look.
The refit, which began back in February 2024, has also included striking updates to the interiors, penned by Patrick Knowles Design. Preserving many of her luxurious elements, which were originally created by François Zuretti, the interiors of Lurssen charter yacht STARFIRE feature rare materials like mother-of-pearl and bamboo.
STARFIRE had excellent bones and a strong aesthetic foundation. We respected her traditional envelope, while incorporating clean, transitional furniture with traditional silhouettes but contemporary finishes.
Maximizing her incredible open spaces with optimal versatility, the most noticeable transformation surrounding the exteriors of charter yacht STARFIRE is the extended swim platform, which has been reimagined as a multifunctional waterside oasis.
This newly expanded space now serves as a waterside dining area, a relaxed beach club, and a launchpad for those who enjoy the non-stop action of watersports yachts charters.
On the main deck, a newly introduced alfresco dining area offers yet another spot for charter guests to enjoy panoramic views, with custom-designed Finkeldei tables elevating the setup.
Entertainment options abound on the pool deck, now fitted with a basketball hoop, a convertible swimming pool that doubles as a giant hot tub, and a state-of-the-art outdoor cinema equipped with a projector designed for daylight viewing, ensuring movie nights on Mediterranean yacht charters are truly unforgettable.
Up top, the sundeck has been artfully redefined as a gym and spa deck. The area features an infra-red sauna, plunge pool, and dedicated massage zone, all enclosed in a climate-controlled glass atrium. The striking 360-degree retractable glass system allows for both complete privacy and immersive open-air wellness sessions throughout relaxing voyages in the West Mediterranean.
Inside, luxury yacht charter STARFIRE's interior has been masterfully updated to deliver a brighter, more fluid environment without compromising her classic charm.
Previously enclosed social spaces have been opened up, along with expansions to stretches of glazing, resulting in the interiors embracing an abundance of natural light.
One of the most striking improvements lies in the main saloon, once segmented into distinct lounge and bar zones. This area is now a large open social space featuring a central seating arrangement, a multi-use games table, and lounge chairs - ideal for moments of solitude or light meals.
With streamlined textures replacing silks and velvets, the refreshed interiors provide all West Med and French Riviera yacht charter guests with an elegant yet relaxed retreat to enjoy the onboard experience in a comfortable air-conditioned environment.
In a playful nod to guest versatility, the bridge deck bar has been transformed into a cosy English-style pub, complete with a traditional booth and felt-lined darts cupboard—a fun, unexpected twist on the classic superyacht bar.
We preserved her soul while increasing light and flow throughout.
Continuing the same new breath of fresh air into the overnight accommodation, within the owner’s suite, a once seldom-used observation space has now been redefined as a private fitness and viewing lounge, offering panoramic forward-facing vistas and a serene environment for morning workouts or evening reflection.
Returning to its roots, the 2025 edition of the MYBA Charter Show is set to welcome the newly refitted charter yacht STARFIRE at Portosole Marina, San Remo. Following the use of multiple other locations, including Marina Molo Vecchio in Genoa, Portosole Marina is capable of accommodating Italy yacht charters up to 295ft (90m), making this year's edition certain to attract some incredible yacht rentals.
Announcing the new location in August 2024, San Remo looks to build on the success of previous editions, with visitors able to experience the highlights of a Ligurian Riviera yacht charter.
Superyacht charters that have previously attended the MYBA Charter Show include 318.11ft (97.2m) luxury yacht charter CARINTHIA VII in 2024, 251.4ft (76.6m) superyacht charter BOADICEA who made her show debut in 2023, and 236.7ft (72.11m) yacht rental STELLA MARIS who debuted at the show in 2022.
