Watch: Feadship's groundbreaking largest yacht Project 821 completes first sea trials

Making her name as the world's first hydrogen-powered superyacht, Project 821 is the largest yacht ever launched in the Netherlands with a length of 389.9ft (118.8m).

Launched from Feadship’s van Lent facility on May 4, the striking motor yacht hosts a captivating dark blue hull and a spacious 15 cabin-layout for up to 30 guests.

Though it is currently unknown if she'll be joining the fleet of Feadship yachts for charter, this game-changing superyacht paves the way for future luxury charter yachts, demonstrating the continuing efforts in research and development to create a greener yachting industry.

Seen completing her first sea trials in the North Sea, Feadship's Project 821 hosts no less than 14 slide-out balconies, seven opening platforms, and five shell doors, making her an ideal choice for indulgent voyages around the Caribbean or the Med.

Making a monumental leap forward in sustainable yachting, Project 821 still has many secrets to reveal, but she is reported to host a range of premium amenities that are popular for family yacht charters including a medical facility, a cinema, a semi-submerged Neptune lounge and an 8.2-meter swimming pool featuring contraflow technology.

Taking the title from 362ft (111m) superyacht KAOS, Project 821 sets a new benchmark as the biggest yacht ever built in the Netherlands according to the YB100, with abundant appeal for private owners and prospective charter guests, featuring a private owner's deck comprising a private gym, lounge, a pair of offices, spacious main cabin and much more.

Following on from the launch of 387.2ft (118m) superyacht LAUNCHPAD, Feadship's 2024 launches are illustrating the ongoing progress toward the shipyard's 'net zero' emissions commitment by 2030 with Project 821 and her innovative hydrogen storing system opening up further opportunities for the industry to achieve a reduced carbon footprint.
