85m (279ft) expedition yacht VICTORIOUS has hit the water in Turkey, having first arrived at AK Yacht's shipyard back in 2016. It's been a long-awaited launch for this spectacular superyacht, whose construction has been stalled on a number of occasions. In total, she was in-build for more than 14 years.
The keel for this motor yacht was first laid in 2006, but the vessel's original shipyard ran into financial troubles. Subsequently, VICTORIOUS was sold and spent a further two years in construction in New Zealand, before the building stalled once again.
The project was then taken over by her current owner, who transferred her to shipbuilder AK Yachts yard in 2016, where she has since undergone a number of changes. Superyacht VICTORIOUS's owner decided to add a two-metre bowsprit to the vessel and extended her by six metres to accommodate an indoor swimming pool in the beach club.
Her elegant silhouette comes courtesy of the renowned studio Michael Leach Design, with her interiors helmed by H2 Yachts Design. She can accommodate up to 12 guests across 11 guest suites. Five staterooms are located on the main deck, four on the lower, and two on the bridge deck. Her onboard highlights include a 10-seat cinema, heated swimming pool, hammam, an aft deck Jacuzzi, a cocktail lounge observation saloon, and a dazzling upper deck complete with a sky lounge for awe-inspiring panoramas,
Yes, superyacht M/Y VICTORIOUS is planned to enter the charter market, but not quite yet. She must still undergo final touches and complete sea trials before being delivered to her owner. It is expected this will be in spring 2021, and she will complete her maiden journey in the Mediterranean.
