Miami Yacht Show 2019 prepares to launch in new location

By Rebecca Bradbury   7 February 2019

The 2019 Miami Yacht Show, which is being held in conjunction with Superyacht Miami, is now just seven days away from getting underway in a brand new location in downtown Miami.

Running from 14 to 18 February, the annual yacht showcase will be spread between the MacArthur and Venetian causeways, as well as on Island Gardens Deep Harbour on Watson Island.

This brand new location will ensure a much more seamless show experience, offering easy access between the superyachts and smaller yachts for the first time in the show's history.

It will be the first time that the show, which is now approaching its 31st edition, has taken place anywhere other than its old Miami Beach venue.

Miami Yacht Show

The original Miami Yacht Show takes place around Biscayne Bay, with smaller yachts lined up on the northern side of the Venetian Causeway, which is also known as 15th Street. Larger yachts can be found south of the Venetian Causeway, opposite MacArthur Causeway, with plenty of boardwalks to allow attendees to get up close to the yachts on display.

Between the two causeways, one Herald Plaza will play host to on-land activities and exhibitions associated with the show.

Superyacht Miami

The majority of superyachts attending the event will be on display exclusively at Island Gardens on Watson Island. This modern location is the perfect setting for some of the international's fleet most impressive offerings.

If you would like to attend this event, you will need to hold a ticket that entitles you access to both the Miami Yacht Show and Superyacht Miami; general admissions tickets will not grant you access to Superyacht Miami.

The must-see superyacht of the show is expected to be the 95m/312ft superyacht KISMET, an award-winning 2014 Lurssen build

The 2019 edition will feature a 60-acre display, including 67,000-square-foot exhibition space and nearly 500 yachts from the world’s foremost yacht and superyacht manufacturers and brokers.

Andrew Doole, the general manager and vice president of Informa Global Exhibitions, US Boat Shows, said: “The Miami Yacht Show is thrilled to expand our show to the heart of downtown Miami and we look forward to sharing our newly enhanced experience with our exhibitors and attendees.

“Our key focus continues to be the improvement of the customer experience, and with closer proximity to Super Yacht Miami at Island Gardens, this new location creates a more cohesive experience.”

The must-see superyacht of the show is expected to be the 95m/312ft superyacht KISMET, an award-winning 2014 Lurssen build which remains one of the most impressive charter offerings on the market. She will be on display at Superyacht Miami.

A fellow Lurssen offering, the 73m/238ft superyacht ‘Coral Ocean’, will also be on display alongside other big names on the charter market, such as the 60m/197ft motor yacht ‘Excellence V’ from Abeking & Rasmussen and the 50m/164ft motor yacht ‘Silver Lining’ from Christensen.
